Del Monte Penne Rigate – Review & Recipe


Are you kidding me!??

Pasta for lunch! that too when you wish to choose healthy food! really!???

Yes, darlings! I choose my pasta over other oily food. What do you think? Why am I doing that?

Ok, by the time I really reach out to all of you and by the time this blog post would get popular I will forget I had asked a question. So, here is the answer ๐Ÿ™‚

When you get to a grocery store and to the section where you find your noodles and pasta, look for the labels on the packs.


Check for Wheat Semolina or Durum Wheat Semolina. The benefits are as under:

1. It is 100% vegetarian ๐Ÿ™‚

2. It has no cholestrol or sodium ๐Ÿ™‚

3. Apart from the durum wheat it has got iron, b complex, folic acid and other good nutrients ๐Ÿ™‚

4. It digests slowly so you will feel full for a longer time ๐Ÿ™‚

5. Very good for bones ๐Ÿ™‚

6. But has gluten I guess. Not very sure ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

So, I am not gluten intolerant so I happily take this as a choice for my meals. Also, The pasta after cooking tastes absolutely yummy. The pasta is firm so it is very interesting to bite and chew this. You need to cook it for a little longer so that it cooks well but keep checking as generally this is supposed to be firmer than a noodle soย continueย stirring and fork checking! ๐Ÿ™‚

There is always a recipe printed on the packet so it is easy to understand. I totally am in Love with this Del Monte pasta and I feel it is so healthy, filling, nutritious, tasty, easy to cook and gives such a variation to my normal dabbas/tiffin that I carry to work or even for my dinner.

So I tried a similar recipe as printed on the packet but obviously with a variation to continue to be on the healthier side! Let me confess that my colleagues loved my lunch! ๐Ÿ˜€

Here is the recipe for you :

Get about 2 cups of penne and put it into the boiling water which has about a spoon of oil and some salt. Drain when it is fork checked. You need to keep fork checking so as to know it is well cooked. Remember that the Penne are always firmer in comparison to noodles.



Now get a wok and pour some oil in it. Add chopped garlic and onions. Saute till brown and crispy and now add 1 cup of tomato puree. Simmer and cook till the sauce comes together. Throw in some salt, some ground black pepper and now the penne pasta. Cover with a lid and cook for a minute. Put off and let it be covered for another 5 mts so that the pasta and sauce mix in well. Your penne pasta in red sauce is ready!

Cheese also is put to it but I avoided to be on the healthier side. You may add some olives to this. I avoided due to my dislike towards olives.

The 4 week Weight loss program review – Indian Makeup & Beauty Blog

Hello friends! This is my very first post on WordPress. I am so looking forward to offer happy interesting truthful reviews here and make some friends too ๐Ÿ™‚

So, here is some extremely interesting review on something which every woman looks forward to!

THE 4 WEEK WEIGHT LOSS PROGRAM – I found this program on Rati’s Indian Makeup & Beauty Blog. In general we all want to look our best but find it difficult when it is not doable. I mean, when the duet mentioned is too little in comparison to our intake or is based on food we don’t always wish to eat.

But friends let me tell you that this is absolutely doable and I am on this with some variation since about 6 days and lost 2 kilos already!!!! (Clap clap)

And this is just in 6 days. I have 3 weeks more to go and there is another 4 week diet to start after I successfully complete this one ๐Ÿ˜€ Yippppeee!!!

By the way, my friend thyroid started living with me when my baby started living inside my womb. My little princess popped out to become such a beautiful little darling…but my friend chose to stay alongย ๐Ÿ˜‰

Not just that… dear plantar fasciitis keeps reminding of its presence almost 3 times or more everyday! Being on the heavier side my doctor has advised weight loss but how much ever I try, I get demotivated as I see not much happening with my body.

So here, let me take this opportunity to thank Rati & Priyanka for this beautiful diet program they posted. I already lost 2 kgs but more than that, I feel much lighter and you have options to choose your stuffing for sandwiches and toasts you eat for breakfast. Cook any before for lunch/dinner and eat any fruit you like!

My diet variation: I drink methi (fenugreek) water and sometimes ajwain water ( carom seeds)ย  I take lots of warm water and tea. Green tea as well as milk tea but without sugar. You can drink as much as you wish. Cook a bigger roti than usual, because I carry one (so my brain thinks that I am eating a good portion) with the veggies and add salads/yoghurt to your lunch. You could make 2 smaller than usual too. Carry dry fruitsย  & Mc Vities Wheat biscuits ( they taste great).ย  Drink some water when I feel slightly hungry. Return home and eat some murmura or a toast with tomatoes and little lemon juice over it. Eat an early dinner though I can’t eat by 730pm always but I try eat by 830pm and take a 20 mts brisk walk.

I sleep by 1130pm. So that gives my digestion system about 2.5 hours – 3 hours break. I take some warm milk based drink without sugar at night, 30 mts after my walk.

Eating is not a problem but making the right choice is absolutely important. You could try cooking oil free snacks and carry to work. I sometimes try chiwda (beaten rice) or murmura ( puffed rice).
